Reunification Palace in Saigon

Reunification Palace in Saigon, the former presidential palace of South Vietnam, is the one of the most popular destinations in the Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon. Its outstanding architecture planned by Soviet architects, reminds you the image of a North Vietnamese tank collapsing the gates of the palace on 30th April 1975, indicating the victory of North Vietnam. The tank is still there in the front lawn of this historic palace.
This beautiful palace, having great historical importance for its connection with the Vietnam conflict, is now preserved as a museum.

Features
  -  The palace with its wide chambers, fascinating modern decorations along with its airy and open location, constitutes an outstanding display of 1960s architectural style.
 -  The rooms, open to the visitors, are kept as they were in those days of conflict and display the sites of the crucial meetings held during the war.

  -  The fashionable recreation room is decorated with a circular sofa.
  -  The war command room is worth visiting. Its rich collection of old communication equipments, huge maps and basement maze will surely add to your thrills.
  -  The most interesting feature of the Reunification Palace is the series of tunnels including a war room and a telecommunication center in the basement. One of these underground tunnels extends upto the Gia Long Palace, now known as the famous Revolutionary Museum of the city.
  -  You can spend half an hour more to view the propaganda film narrating the wartime events. The film played in English, French, Japanese and Chinese is screened in separate rooms.
  -  Latest additions like statue of Ho Chi Minh in Saigon and viewing room enhance the grandeur of the palace.

The Reunification Palace remains open to the visitors from 7:30 am to 11:00 am and again from 1:00 pm to4:00 pm daily.
Admission charged for this palace is 15000 dong.
