Yardage book

HOLE 1 – Par 4
Blue Tee    397 yards
White Tee  370 yards
Red Tee     347 yards

A good length opening hole from raised tees to a generous landing area, which is protected by a fairway bunker on the left. To play to the right side for the drive provides for a safer landing from the fairway bunker however the player faces a challenging second shot into the green as it has a reasonably sized bunker to the right front of the green. The green is also protected with a left side bunker however the left side of the green is more receptive for an approach shot should you wish not to carry the front right bunker.

HOLE 2 – Par 4
Blue Tee   433 yards
White Tee 401 yards
Red Tee    368 yards

The longest Par 4 on the course that has one fairway bunker on the right side of the landing area. The green has a generous opening at the front to receive a well hit second shot, however, it has a rear bunker to catch any over hit approach shot from entering the lake. The rear bunker is also the first encounter of the “beach” side bunker, which flows towards the water line for a spectacular visual presentation.

HOLE 3 – Par 3
Blue Tee   165 yards
White Tee 141 yards
Red Tee    125 yards

The first of the Par 3’s, which is also a signature hole. With water surrounding the hole to make it a virtual island and a spectacular “beach” bunker to the right front of the green interfacing with the water, this hole requires pinpoint accuracy. However there is an “open” area available on the left for those who fall short of the green and to follow up with a short chip into the green.

HOLE 4 – Par 5
Gold Tee   541 yards
Blue Tee    513 yards
White Tee  479 yards
Red Tee     452 yards

The first of the Par 5’s and a good strategic hole if played correctly from the tees that offers wonderful views of water on both sides but playing straight will be safe. The left hand side fairway bunkers protect the left line approach to the green and the green is protected with bunkers on either side, which will require a carefully placed approach shot.

HOLE 5 – Par 4
Blue Tee    377 yards
White Tee  343 yards
Red Tee     314 yards

This reasonably short Par 4 offers a test of the golfers short game ability with a centrally placed fairway bunker to make the big hitter think twice. This hole will require accuracy to achieve a good score as the green is heavily protected with bunkers on all sides and to the rear. A good strategic and thinking golfers hole.

HOLE 6 – Par 4
Blue Tee    407 yards
White Tee  368 yards
Red Tee     333 yards

A dogleg right hole, which is protected on the right hand side by a large lake to protect the direct approach to the green. A confident golfer wanting to take the direct line approach will be rewarded with a shorter approach to the green provided they avoid the water and land on the additional fairway provided specifically for this hole. The green is protected with larger bunker systems to the left / front and the rear would reward the golfer on the direct approach and provide a challenge to the normal approach depending on the pin placements on the day.

HOLE 7 – Par 3

Gold Tee   195 yards
Blue Tee    180 yards
White Tee  160 yards
Red Tee     141 yards

A strong visual hole with water noticeable, but out of play, that offers a critical approach to the green. The staggered tees to the right offer a different approach angle to the green but bring the large bunkers into play.

HOLE 8 – Par 4
Blue Tee   423 yards
White Tee 382 yards
Red Tee    355 yards

A relatively long Par 4 that has a good landing area but requires the golfer to think about the second shot to the green. The right side of the fairway is open but it provides a more difficult line into the green as it is well protected by bunkers at the right front and right rear. The left side of the fairway provides for a better line to the green, as the front of the green is more open to invite a ball to roll through however the tee shot will need to be carefully placed near the left side fairway bunker. For the shorter hitter the best way to play this hole would to be lay it short of the green and attack the pin for a more positive result. The second shot would need to be nicely struck and if not the centrally placed bunker could come into play if not carried.

HOLE 9 – Par 5
Gold Tee   565 yards
Blue Tee    541 yards
White Tee  511 yards
Red Tee     487 yards

A strong hole for the final of the outward nine and the longest hole on the course with a dogleg to the right. Avoiding the bunker system on the dogleg and setting up for a second shot which will require to carry a water crossing to a protected second landing zone with bunkers on either side. Playing straight on this hole would provide for an ideal approach to the green to avoid the sand traps and be rewarded with a par to complete the opening nine.

HOLE 10 – Par 4
Gold Tee     409 yards
Blue Tee     387 yards
White Tee   336 yards
Red Tee      315 yards

A good opening hole for the back nine with a very slight dogleg to the right The shorter approach shot into the green requires accuracy as the green is guarded with bunkers to the front, sides and rear.

HOLE 11 – Par 4
Blue Tee    390 yards
White Tee  357 yards
Red Tee     327 yards

Another exciting Par 4 that requires crossing a water canal to the wide primary landing zone. But just like hole 6, this offers a confident golfer another opportunity to take on the water and be rewarded with a shorter approach shot to the green. The green is protected on the left side which suggests the ideal approach to the green is from the right, but beware of the water!

HOLE 12 – Par 3
Blue Tee    180 yards
White Tee  160 yards
Red Tee     141 yards

One of the more exciting holes on the course and one to challenge any golf enthusiast. A large bunker system heavily protects the green, which will require pin point accuracy to get to the green without avoiding a long putt depending on the pin placements on the day.

HOLE 13 – Par 5
Gold Tee    547 yards
Blue Tee    523 yards
White Tee  470 yards
Red Tee     453 yards

A staggered tee system provides for strategic thinking from the tees on whether to take on the water crossing or place it conventionally on the open fairway prior to the crossing. Either option will provide a challenge for a second shot to the protected second landing zone and placement for the approach to the green that is protected by two greenside pot bunkers and a rear bunker. Overall a thinking golfers hole with its share of hazards.

HOLE 14 – Par 4
Blue Tee    445 yards
White Tee  385 yards
Red Tee     350 yards

One of the more picturesque holes on the course which plays along the bank of Dam Vac lake. Water is in play for the entire left hand side of the hole and water is noticeable on the right hand side beyond the landing zone. This hole plays long from the tee and a good test for the experienced golfer. The forward tees provide for workable options to the casual golfer wanting to overcome the psychological factor of the water and produce a good score. The green is placed near the water’s edge on a peninsula and will require a test of nerves for an accurate approach shot.

HOLE 15 – Par 4
Blue Tee    420 yards
White Tee  378 yards
Red Tee      354 yards

This hole presents another of many water crossings that meander through the course. The opening tee shot is greeted with a generous landing area, which is critical for setting up the second approach shot to the green, which is protected by a “beach” side bunker. A mishit shot to the right will result in a penalty.

HOLE 16 – Par 3
Blue Tee    160 yards
White Tee  155 yards
Red Tee     134 yards

Each of the Par 3’s on the course are special in their own way and half include water. This Par 3 offers spectacular views across Dam Vac lake and don’t be fooled by the short length of the hole as the open area of the lake provides for strong headwinds which makes it tough and challenging. A large bunker protects the left of the green. A great hole with a lot of character.

HOLE 17 – Par 4
Gold Tee   368 yards
Blue Tee    322 yards
White Tee  309 yards
Red Tee     294 yards

This golf hole challenges the courage of the bigger hitter and the strategy of the shorter hitter to negotiate the water on the left and fairway bunkering system on the right to obtain the ideal approach to the green from the left. This may be the shortest Par 4 on the course but given its position along Dam Vac lake and with a considerable water carry from the rear tee will test any golfers shot making ability. The green is guarded with a large right side front bunker and water to the left and rear which make for difficult pin placements.

HOLE 18 – Par 5
Gold Tee   561 yards
Blue Tee    525 yards
White Tee  504 yards
Red Tee     482 yards

The second longest hole on the course as the last to finish an exiting round, this Par five will test the straight hitting ability of most golfers with water in play down the entire left side. Generous fairway landing zones have been provided to offer opportunities to get in the best position to approach the green in front of the Clubhouse. Three shots will be required by most golfers to reach the green, but the influence of water for the length of the fairway and a large bunker around the green will restrict potential low scores while still providing excitement to the end.
