Requirements for Lao visa
+ Applicants must provide the following documents to facilitate the processing of their cases:
1). One completed application form (Visa form can be obtained click here!)
2). Two photos
3). Valid passport
4). Visa processing fee
5). Documents from his / her competent authorities i.e.Department/organisation or through the Authorized Tourist Agency, which cleary specify the purpose of visit i.e. Official, Business, Tourist or letter of invitation from friend /relative in Laos (if applicable) for the visit visa. (If you are traveling as a tourist, you can skip the point number 5)
+ Processing Fees
processing fee for visa is SEK 300: Applications which are submitted without the appropriate fee will not be considered. Please note that fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application. Payment is only by cash. The Lao Embassy in Sweden does not accept any cheque. Your cash can be sent with your passport by registered post to our Embassy.
+ How to send your application and receive your passport.
If you are eligible to apply by mail, you must include a self-addressed envelope and the fee for return your passport back with your applications so that we will return your passport to you after processing is complete. Since your passport is a valuable document, we would strongly recommend that you send it by registered post, this will simplify the handling of your documents and provide them with the security they deserve.
Application form should be sent to the Embassy of Laos, Stockholm, and three weeks before your departure time.
+ The fee for returning your passport back:
Within Sweden, returning fee by registered post is approximately SEK 70/ 1 passport and SEK 80/ 2 passports. For applicants Outside Sweden are approximately SEK 90/ 1 passport, and SEK 110/ 2 passports. (These returning fees can be changed yearly). Warning: Passports will be sent to the owners, if they enclosed the return fee in their envelops. If there is no return fee, the Lao Embassy will not be responsible for sending them back to the owners. Any claim is not taken into consideration.

The Consular Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the honor to inform foreign nationals intending to come to Lao PDR for official contacts, for visiting their relatives, tourism, commercial or other purposes that the Government of the Lao PDR has updated its regulations on entry into and exit from Lao PDR in conformity to the present conditions. In order to facilitate Lao citizens, immigrants and foreign nationals in their border crossings, there are now 13 International Immigration Check Points in Laos, where Lao citizens, immigrants and Foreign nationals with their own Passports and an appropriate visa issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or an Embassy or a Consulate General of the Lao PDR overseas are permitted to enter into and exit from Laos or to obtain a visa on their arrival as follows:
